Agnese Lounge Chair
The Agnese lounge chair designed by Gianfranco Frattini for Tacchini is produced in a very accurate way and with extreme fidelity to the original design. The ash wood structure is available with either walnut or grey stain while the shell, backrest, and armrest, available in fabrics or leather from the collection, is finished with sartorial seam bringing together a harmonious combination. Moreover, following from Gianfranco Frattini’s original project, the armchair is accompanied by a matching ottoman. The Agnese lounge chair is just the beginning of a comprehensive project that aims to support the revival of a great designer’s style but also an entire atmosphere of interior decor.
An Italian designer, Gianfranco Frattini was best known for his work as both an architect and an industrial designer. Born in Padua in 1926, he studied under Gio Ponti before opening his own architecture practice. Frattini found his way into industrial design when he came across a gap in design for lighting and furniture for his interior spaces. Thus began a wide array of collaboration with many furniture design houses, including Cassina, Bernini, Arteluce, Fantoni, Artemide, and Knoll. In 1956, he became one of the founding members of the Association of Industrial Design. Notable furniture pieces include the Boalum Lamp in 1969 and 780/783 a set of low beechwood and black lacquer tables.
Tacchini’s Maestri collection feature products from charismatic designers capable of teaching and handing down an art through their direct actions as well as through the inheritance of their actual works. Communication through classic and timeless design, far from any idea of fashions and trends, yet so powerful as to produce a style naturally. Tacchini has given a new stage for these classics and the masters who have designed them.
