The Anne dining table is part of a comprehensive collection of complementary outdoor seating and tables introduced in 2005 by Dutch architect Piet Boon. Boon is celebrated internationally for his total design concepts – furniture, architecture, and interiors – underscored by ergonomic functionality and durability expressed through aesthetic of natural materials. For Boon’s outdoor collection, the designer chose highly-prized iroko wood – often referred to as African teak. Iroko is an extraordinarily durable wood that is similar to teak in its tonality that continues to develop as it ages. Unlike teak, iroko wood does not require regular treatment with oil or varnish for its use outdoors.

While the Anne dining tables are characterized by their solid construction in thick iroko wood, Piet Boon’s masterful treatment of the forms gently splayed legs provides tremendous visual interest as a foil to the table top’s horizontal expanse of slats. The Anne dining tables are available in three sizes – each version is also available in a choice of two heights. The rectilinear versions will seat either four or six respectively – the square version will seat eight.

The Anne dining table’s versatile aesthetic can be paired perfectly with Piet Boon’s Niek collection of generously proportioned armless lounge chairs and settees also available in seat heights that complement both the low and tall versions of the table.
