Jean-Marie Massaud

France

Born in Toulouse in 1966, Jean-Marie Massaud graduated in 1990 from Les Ateliers, Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle, Paris. After working in both Asia and France, he opened his own office in Paris in 1994 dedicating himself to both industrial and furniture design along with building important relationships with brands like Authentics, Baccarat, and Magis. His collaboration with Marc Berthier and his work in the field of urban planning led him towards design and architecture. His research into the sensory and emotional responses engendered by design has led to a signature contextual approach developing objects for a number of brands including: B&B Italia, Cassina, Cappellini, Cacharel, Lancôme, Poltrona Frau, Tronconi and Yamaha. He has been the recipient of numerous design awards and his work is now included in the permanent collections of several museums worldwide.
