EAST OF THE MOON Carpet
Rock arrangements, raked gravel and rippled sand of a Zen Garden are represented in East of the Moon carpet by Lara Bohinc. East of the Moon is a hand tufted rug of finest pure wool with elements of linen with an elegant modernistic design. Where clean empty spaces stand in contrast to full areas, the result is artful pieces in two different color palettes connected to nature and the garden itself: Shades of earth and rust, and nuances of grey.
East of the Moon is available in sizes 200x200 cm and 200x300 cm.

A mark of Lara Bohinc’s work is versatility. Having studied Industrial Design at the Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts, followed by MA in Metalwork and Jewelry at Royal College of Art London, Lara Bohinc MBE is a passionate believer in the universality of good design and looks to bridge the divide across different mediums of furniture, objects, jewelry, and textiles.
Bohinc’s ability to create work with iconic beauty is rooted in her familiarity with materials and manufacturing approaches. While maintaining a deep respect for the traditional principles of her craft, she has also drawn on her knowledge of industrial techniques, fusing modernity of style with function, to achieve a contemporary elegance. All of this builds on her signature style of mixing contradictions: bold yet light, graphic yet fluid, angular yet feminine.
Bohinc exhibited at Fuori Salone in 2017, 2018 and 2019. She has also exhibited with Fumi Gallery at PAD London, Nomad 2018 (Monte Carlo and St. Moritz) and The Salon New York.
