Glo-Ball Basic Zero mimics the calm­ness of the full moon, and it is one of a family of the Glo-Ball Collec­tion by Jasper Morri­son. Created in 1998, this eccen­tric table lamp has a white acid-etched glass diffuser and a base that is 30% fiber­glass rein­forced injec­tion-molded polyamide. The die-cast aluminum diffuser support is painted gray.

Jasper Morrison

Jasper Morrison is a British designer, born in London in 1959. He is best known for his industrial design work that uses thoughtful design to create mass-produced pieces using advanced technology. Morrison’s design work encompasses furniture design, product design, art direction, and authoring design books. Morrison studied at the Kingston Polytecnic Design School and The Royal College of Art in London, earning both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Design.

Throughout the 2000’s he designed kitchen appliances for Rowenta, and opened the Jasper Morrison Shop in 2008 in the building adjacent to his design studio. Morrison has collaborated with many companies throughout his career, including Aram, Cappellini, Vitra, Alessi, Flos, Magis, Rosenthal, Camper, Kettle, and Maharam. In 2014 Morrison created furniture for Tate Modern. Throughout his career he has written books about design, including A Book Of Things, Everything But The Walls, and A World Without Words.
