Cassina redis­cov­ers and re-issues Le Due Facce della Luna, the flat­ware service designed in 1979 by Afra and Tobia Scarpa. A 24-piece set of flat­ware in stain­less steel: a perfectly balanced blend of beauty and func­tion, a master­piece of creativ­ity and dedication.

Tobia + Afra Scarpa

As a husband and wife team, Tobia and Afra Scarpa created interiors and furniture that embrace the materials of each design; they paid particular attention to technology and aesthetics. Tobia was born in Venice, Italy in 1935, and is the son of Carlo Scarpa. Afra Bianchin was born in Montebelluna, Italy in 1937. Both attended the University luav di Venezia, graduating with architectural degrees in 1957. Carlo worked as a glass designer for Murano glassworks from 1957-1960. Together, the Scarpas opened their own design office in Afra’s hometown in 1960. They collaborated with industrial design manufacturers throughout their careers, including work with B&B Italia, San Lorenzo Silver, Knoll International, Gavina, Cassina, Meritalia, Flos, Fabbian, and Veas. Their design work encompasses architecture, interior design, furniture, clothing, and art glass.
