Kvadrat Canvas 2 Fabric
Canvas, by Giulio Ridolfo, is a vibrant woolen upholstery textile created for Kvadrat. Particularly well-suited to large surfaces thanks to its pronounced structure, it features a soft weave and an expanded palette inspired by the landscapes of Skagen, Denmark. The mélange yarn used to craft Canvas combines three colors, with six hues in every colorway. Consequently, the textile offers exceptional color richness and an intriguing expression. From a distance, it has the calm surface of a unicolored material. But, get closer, and shimmering color nuances, delicate contrasts, and an elegant structure emerge.
Italian ‘color master’ Giulio Ridolfo is a highly sought-after color advisor to many of the world’s leading interior, clothing and footwear companies. In 1985 he graduated with a Masters Degree in Fashion Design from Milan’s Domus Academy and since has pivoted, working
with renowned furniture companies developing advanced color systems for textile applications. Ridolfo draws his inspiration from diverse sources such as photography, art, and fashion. He gathers images, colors, patterns, and textures, then combines these different elements and expressions until he creates something new.
