by Gunnar Aagaard Andersen
for Kvadrat
Gunnar Aagaard Andersen is an artist, sculptor, architect, furniture, and textile designer and pioneer of Danish Modern Art. A graduate of Denmark’s School of Arts and Crafts, his output explored non-figurative expressionism, the refraction of light, the nature of color, and the structure of the form.
In developing his work, Gunnar Aagaard Andersen consistently experimented with unexpected media and innovative materials. He derived his motifs from sensual impressions, transforming them into visual, dynamic forms.
