Lara Bohinc

A mark of Lara Bohinc’s work is versa­til­ity. Having studied Indus­trial Design at the Ljubl­jana Academy of Fine Arts, followed by MA in Metal­work and Jewelry at Royal College of Art London, Lara Bohinc MBE is a passion­ate believer in the univer­sal­ity of good design and looks to bridge the divide across differ­ent mediums of furni­ture, objects, jewelry, and textiles.

Bohinc’s ability to create work with iconic beauty is rooted in her famil­iar­ity with mate­ri­als and manu­fac­tur­ing approaches. While main­tain­ing a deep respect for the tradi­tional prin­ci­ples of her craft, she has also drawn on her knowl­edge of indus­trial tech­niques, fusing moder­nity of style with func­tion, to achieve a contem­po­rary elegance. All of this builds on her signa­ture style of mixing contra­dic­tions: bold yet light, graphic yet fluid, angular yet feminine.

Bohinc exhib­ited at Fuori Salone in 2017, 2018 and 2019. She has also exhib­ited with Fumi Gallery at PAD London, Nomad 2018 (Monte Carlo and St. Moritz) and The Salon New York.
