Maison Martin Margiela is best known for the avant-garde and deconstructionist fashion designs created by its founder, Martin Margiela. The design house was created by the Belgian designer in 1988. From 1997 to 2003 Maison Martin Margiela oversaw the creative direction for women’s wear at Hermes. Margiela exited his position in 2009, and the role of creative designer was handed to John Galliano in 2014. Throughout the long reign of the Maison Martin Margiela, the design house collaborated with various companies to create clothing, fragrances show designs, watches, and jewelry. In 2010, Maison Martin Margiela expanded to homewares and interior design, including the Sbilenco Table series.
