Simon Pengelly

Simon Pengelly was eight years old when he started making furni­ture in his father’s work­shop, and by the time he was 15, he had already won a prize for cabi­net­mak­ing. He contin­ued his passion and studies at Kingston Univer­sity, where he grad­u­ated in 1988. Pengelly went on to work for Conran Design and later on for the studios of Habitat, all before found­ing Pengelly Design in 1993. 

The company now works for firms in the UK, Italy, and the United States and has become one of the top product design­ers for some of the world’s fore­most furniture manufacturers. 

Simon’s designs are mini­mal­is­tic, inno­v­a­tive produc­tion-oriented think­ing, expres­sive­ness, and time­less­ness. All of that, combined with a passion for creat­ing furni­ture with ​“soul,” has resulted in award-winning designs.
