Teruhiro Yanagihara

Japan­ese-born Teruhiro Yanag­i­hara crosses bound­aries and cultures to form encoun­ters between contem­po­rary design and Japan­ese crafts. His output spans several fields: product design, textile design, inte­rior design, brand creative direc­tion, and art direction. 

In 2002, after finish­ing his studies in furni­ture design at Osaka Univer­sity of Arts in Osaka, Japan, he estab­lished his epony­mous studio, Teruhiro Yanag­i­hara Studio, which today has a pres­ence in Japan, Denmark, The Nether­lands, and France.

His work features in the perma­nent collec­tion at the Centre National Des Arts Plas­tiques in Paris and Amsterdam’s Stedelijk Museum. Further­more, he was a jury member of the Good Design Award Japan 2020 and the Kokuyo Design Award in 2021.
