The Poetry rug is an expression of passionate weaving. Poetry is created in the Arkad-pattern with dark earthy tones shifting to light ethereal colors. Maja Johansson created the pattern that is reminiscent of building blocks, but also holds a history of knowledge and genuine craftsmanship. Poetry is an ever-relevant poem bridging the gap between yesterday, today and tomorrow – where the rug tells a compelling story through color and shape.

Maja Johansson Starander

Maja Johansson Starander studied at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art in London. When finishing her Master’s, Maja got in contact with Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg whom she felt a strong connection with as a designer. After meeting with Gunilla in Stockholm, she decided to leave London for the little town of Kinna, Sweden. She has worked as an in-house designer at Kasthall since early 2013 with an aim to move Kasthall and the beautiful Swedish heritage forward.
