Linde Freya Tangelder

Linde Freya Tangelder is a furni­ture, product, and inte­rior designer based in Belgium, where she founded her studio, Destroyers/​Builders, in 2014. The studio strives for sensory rele­vance and cultural value in detail and on a larger scale, taking on projects that range from limited editions to commis­sioned assign­ments. Inspired by archi­tec­tural shapes, the furni­ture pieces high­light the field between indus­try and human­ity through diverse mate­ri­als. Both low and high-end mate­ri­als get re-valued, recon­sid­ered, and trans­formed. The results are tactile, sculp­tural, and archi­tec­tural, balanced between contem­po­rary and tradi­tional designs. Since opening her studio, in 2019, Tangelder was named Designer of the Year by Bien­nale Interieur in Belgium. In 2022, she created Soft Corners, her debut collab­o­ra­tion with Cassina, an ottoman series and low table featured in their Living Collection.
