Marcel Wanders

Born in 1963, Marcel Wanders is a Dutch designer and art direc­tor, who gained a follow­ing after the debut of his Knotted Chair in 1996. He opened Power­house Studio in Amster­dam in 2000, where he devel­oped furni­ture pieces of his own design and welcomed projects with other inter­na­tional design special­ists. Shortly after he founded his own studio, he became the co-founder of the design label Moooi. Wanders invited over 50 inter­na­tional design­ers in 2014 to his Power­house Studio, which resulted in part­ner­ships of over 1700+ projects for both private clients and product design devel­op­ment. His collab­o­ra­tions include projects with Alessi, Flos, and Swarovski. In 2015, Wanders created a prefab­ri­cated house named Eden for Revolution Precrafted.
