Rikke Frost

Rikke Frost trained as an indus­trial designer at the School of Archi­tec­ture in Aarhus, but her inter­est in crafts and mate­ri­als led to a focus on furni­ture design. In 2004 she estab­lished Rikke Frost Design, a creative multi-disci­plined company in Aarhus, and since has created for several renowned Danish and inter­na­tional compa­nies — includ­ing Carl Hansen and Son. Her process is effi­cient, partic­u­larly concern­ing mate­ri­als, shapes, and trans­lat­ing craft methods to modern produc­tion. The results are tactile and func­tion­ally unique, nodding to Scan­di­na­vian heritage but very much looking toward the future.
