Designer Maja Johans­son found and rein­ter­preted a pattern saved from Kasthall’s testing archives from the 1960s. The result was Muse, a modern retro-classic woven in 100% wool. The color story borrows inspi­ra­tion from asphalt, Italian suit fabrics, Finnish nature, roman­tic paint­ings and denim with natural edging from Japan.

Maja Johansson Starander studied at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art in London. When finishing her Master’s, Maja got in contact with Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg whom she felt a strong connection with as a designer. After meeting with Gunilla in Stockholm, she decided to leave London for the little town of Kinna, Sweden. She has worked as an in-house designer at Kasthall since early 2013 with an aim to move Kasthall and the beautiful Swedish heritage forward.
