Ines is a tufted rug in a volume of coarser wool yarn and linen, with a contrasting surface in low bouclé, is the sister of Kasthall’s iconic rug Moss. The design is timeless, eccentric and born from experiments with paper folding and collage techniques. Designer Maja Johansson has shaped stripes with shadows and volume in these colors: Moon, Ghost, Jungle and Saphire.

Maja Johansson Starander studied at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art in London. When finishing her Master’s, Maja got in contact with Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg whom she felt a strong connection with as a designer. After meeting with Gunilla in Stockholm, she decided to leave London for the little town of Kinna, Sweden. She has worked as an in-house designer at Kasthall since early 2013 with an aim to move Kasthall and the beautiful Swedish heritage forward.
