Quilt Carpet

The award-winning Quilt designed by Ellinor Elias­son for Kasthall is a hand-tufted pure wool and linen master­piece. Elias­son skill­fully employs a tech­nique where the carpet’s surface features varying heights of cut and looped textures, converg­ing in patches of vibrant color. Elias­son draws inspi­ra­tion from the intri­cate works of design icons Anna Albers and Sheila Hicks, chan­nel­ing their ability to blend shapes and colors to create new nuances and shades.

Another well­spring of creativ­ity for Quilt comes from Boro Textiles, a Japan­ese textile family rooted in the 19th century. The synthe­sis of these diverse influ­ences results in a rug that is visu­ally strik­ing, durable, and elegant. Quilt captures the essence of Elias­son’s design prowess and pays homage to the rich tapes­try of artis­tic tradi­tions that have shaped its unique identity.
