Metropolitan High-Back Lounge
for B&B Italia
The Metropolitan High-Back lounge designed by Jeffrey Bernett is characterized by the combination of gentle curves and engaging cants that create striking and sculptural forms when viewed from any angle. The Metropolitan range features a low, mid, high back as well as a wingback lounge chair with neck rest and an optional ottoman. All versions of the lounge feature a central column swivel support that culminates in four splayed spokes to form the base – the highback version is also available with swivel columnar support and simple flat disc base.
The Metropolitan lounge noted here is the Highback version; it features an internal composition in steel with Bayfit cold-shaped polyurethane foam with polyester padding. The Metropolitan lounge chair’s innovative roll-shaped neck cushion on the tall back version is adjustable through the clever use of magnets. Its base is composed of bright, brushed die-cast and extruded aluminum – the spokes culminate in plastic glides.
